STDs Increasing During Summer

You may not expect the occurrence of STDs to change depending on the season. Recent research shows, however, that an increase in heat is connected to an increase in sexual activity and an increase in STDs.

With this fact in mind researchers have found out that the rate at which STDs are transmitted increases or double during the summer time. The very famous 1967 summer of love had hippies all over craving some loving. That tradition is still alive today with people partaking in sexual acts in a very large scale during summer.

That summer of 1967 was one of the worst ones when it came to the increase in STDs. After adequate research the department of health found out that there was a rise in sexually transmitted disease more than 160 percent higher than it was before that summer. This was in the United States alone.

The same increase during summer months is seen in our present day. With students mostly at home and out of school, the sexual temptations are causing sexually transmitted diseases to occur more frequently.

Most people who are infected with a sexually transmitted disease are not aware. It is reported that the sexual activity of any young adult between the ages of 15 and 24 increases during the summer. Because of these reasons, it is recommended that students should undergo STD testing at least once a year.

You’d think because of the cooler weather people would be more willing to “snuggle.” But I guess you learn something new everyday.

This really doesn’t surprise me. Need to remember though, no matter what time of year it is, using protection is the most important thing!

The summer heat just makes people love more I guess but you would think that the risk of STD’s would make people act a little more protectively. Some people just don’t learn.

Summertime and the kids have nothing better to do. As a parent be prepared when your kid is sexually active to have “the talk”

No surprise when the clothes come off for the summer, they come off for good. Be prepared, and make sure to educate your kids to the effects of unprotected sex.

When people are wearing less, them seem to become more attracted to one another. Only seems fitting that the summers are when people are acting a little more crazy.

There are so many reasons to talk to your children on the topic of unprotected sex. When school gets out, and your children want to stay out late, it might be an ample time to bring up the topic
